We Want

The Global Finance Director is responsible for the financial leadership, governance and strategic financial management of TOAST globally. The role oversees all aspects of financial planning, reporting, compliance, cash flow management, commercial finance and operational finance across multiple territories.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Global Finance Director will provide financial insight and strategic guidance to support business growth, profitability and long-term sustainability. The role will partner closely with Client Services, Production, Operations and Executive Leadership to ensure robust financial controls while enabling commercial agility and growth.

Key Responsbilities:

Financial Leadership

  • Lead the global finance function across all operating territories.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team.
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on commercial and financial matters.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
  • Develop financial models to support growth initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and strategic targets.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
  • Identify risks and opportunities through ongoing financial analysis.

Commercial Finance

  • Partner with business leaders to improve profitability and financial performance.
  • Review project and client profitability across all business units.
  • Support pricing strategies, commercial negotiations and contract reviews.
  • Drive improvements in revenue recognition, margin management and utilisation reporting.
  • Provide financial oversight for major client engagements and strategic initiatives.

Financial Operations

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and treasury functions.
  • Ensure efficient global cash flow management and working capital control.
  • Manage banking relationships and financial service providers.
  • Establish and maintain scalable financial processes and controls.
  • Support operational efficiency initiatives across the business.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and tax requirements across operating regions.
  • Manage annual audits and relationships with external auditors.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
  • Oversee corporate tax, VAT, sales tax and international financial obligations.
  • Support legal and regulatory compliance requirements globally.

Global Business Support

  • Support international expansion and entity management activities.
  • Provide financial due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships and strategic investments.
  • Lead financial integration activities for new entities or business units.
  • Develop reporting frameworks that provide visibility across all territories.
  • Ensure consistency in financial policies and procedures globally.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing global finance team.
  • Establish clear objectives, performance standards and development plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning and future capability growth within the finance function.

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience in senior finance leadership roles within a global organisation.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
  • Experience managing multi-entity and multi-currency operations.
  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
  • Proven track record of improving financial processes and controls.
  • Experience working with international tax, compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Agency, technology, digital, production or professional services experience preferred.

Compensation

This is a full-time role based in the US, with flexibility for hybrid working. Compensation is competitive and aligned to Global Finance Director experience.
