Creative Lead - Tracksuit Studio

Job description

Some people say โ€œideas can come from anywhereโ€ but we know some people are just better at ideas than others. We're looking for a real one. An ideas OG.

We're building something unusual: an in-house creative studio for a B2B SaaS brand, producing a wide range of bespoke content under one roof. We need someone to lead it.

Weโ€™re looking for someone whoโ€™s one part creative director, one part editor-in-chief, one part creative production manager. Think SNL show-runner, not three jobs stitched together. You set the vision, vibe-check everything that goes out the door, and make sure it actually ships. Kind of like our executive chef, except the food is content and ideas are the menu. Lol. Hungry much!?

We have high ambitions for Tracksuit Studio. To build the biggest and most engaged brand and marketing community on the planet: content people look forward to the way they look forward to their Netflix binge. Ambitious? Sure. But who wants to work somewhere with no ambition!?

Unlike companies that expect a high creative bar with little support, at Tracksuit you'll get:

  • A team already assembled and hungry for direction (in-house creator, video editor, writer, social media manager) for you to shape into a newsroom-grade creative engine.
  • Real budgets and creative latitude, so you spend your energy on the work, not on convincing people the work is worth doing.
  • A direct line to the Head of Brand and genuine authority to set the creative standard across the whole marketing org, not just your direct reports.
  • Freedom to build the culture you've always wanted to work in: honest critique, high standards, and ideas flowing like the rivers of Babylon.
Who this person might be:
  • You've probably got a diverse creative background, maybe out of alternative media, maybe you ran a branded-content studio inside a media company, or you managed a big-time podcast production. You've built teams that look more like a modern newsroom than an old sk00L agency set up.
  • Someone who's made their career out of making things, proactively creating your own opportunities rather than waiting for a brief. Show us.
  • Probably a writer's origin, or at least an obsession with language and words. You've told a lot of stories, written a lot of taglines, scripts, subject lines, love letters. You're comfortable being a copy custodian for the brand (not the core writer, more like an editor-in-chief of a newsroom), and you know the power of a great headline and have mourned the death of the em dash. Thanks AI. #RIP
  • Someone who can turn mundane moments into watchable stories, and think conceptually across video, social, and copy without needing to specialise in just one lane.
What you'll do:

This is a senior, handsโ€‘on leadership role as dayโ€‘toโ€‘day creative leader of Tracksuit Studios: setting the creative standard, building a highโ€‘performing team, and working with growth, brand, and product to make sure the work lands.

Your crew: an in-house creator, video editor, writer, and social media manager. Plus all future weird and wonderful creative talent you bring in as we scale. Hereโ€™s a day in the life:

  • Develop concepts, campaigns, and brand platform work across every channel and format.
  • Provide creative direction across the full department, your authority extends beyond your direct reports.
  • Manage and grow a team of writers, video editors, TikTokers, social media managers and other weird, wonderful talent who want to do the best work of their careers.
  • Concept and create key pieces yourself to keep your craft-soul alive and stay creatively match fit - you're a player/coach, not a spectator.
  • Work with product, growth, and marketing science to turn briefs into ideas that travel.
  • Brief and direct freelancers and production crews during campaign peaks and big brand moments.
  • Set the creative processes, review cadences, and quality bar as the department scales.
  • Keep voice, tone, and identity consistent everywhere. Not matching luggage but obviously Tracksuit in spirit, style and vibes.
  • Work closely with the Global Art Director, Brand Manager and wider design crew (separate teams, also under Brand) to ensure the brand asset buffet is growing not just follower counts.
  • Build a culture where ideas flow like an unhinged group chat at 2am, where people love challenging each other's work without feeling threatened or demotivated.
  • Give honest critique and mentorship that builds taste, not just manages workload.
What we're looking for:

We're after someone who embodies Tracksuit's spirit of freedom and unexplainable joy. Excited to get out of bed every day to build a brand that stands apart on point of view, not product features. If you're someone who will relentlessly dig for and defend ideas that make people laugh, cry, learn, or genuinely feel something, you'll thrive here.

  • Experience leading creative talent and multi-disciplinary teams from concept to launch.
  • Proven track record shipping integrated campaigns at a high craft bar, whatever the budget.
  • Ability to set vision, influence senior stakeholders, and tie creative decisions to strategy.
  • A knack for turning even dull insights into culture-driving ideas people actually want to watch.
  • Excellent communicator: you simplify complexity, make fast calls, and bring people with you.
  • Experience managing agencies and partners across markets, known for raising quality and speed.
  • A portfolio of worldโ€‘class craft and storytelling that earns attention rather than buying it.
  • Deep fluency in social and creator ecosystems, and how to turn cultural signals into breakthrough ideas.
  • Experience setting up creative operating rhythms with marketing, product, and design.
  • Full-stack creative capability: you produce, direct, and bring your own voice to a story rather than specialising narrowly.

$170,000 - $185,000 a year

We run comprehensive full-cycle comp reviews annually, as well as rolling promotions when you've levelled up. Your salary is supplemented with our best-in-class benefits package, as well as generous ESOP.

Why join us at Tracksuit?

We're one of Australasia's fastest growing startups, with a real and growing share of the global brand tracking market. Our product serves 25+ countries and over 1000+ consumer brands worldwide.
