WORK LOCATION: Grand Rapids - Lettinga Campus
POSITION PAY RANGE: $13.73 (Please note: Actual pay offered will be commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience, the type of role, pay equity and available funding)
SUMMARY:
This position works with Global Campus staff to design, build, and edit webpages and applications. Research projects, software testing, and other assignments will be completed to support University operations and innovation. The position is meant for a student who seeks to learn more about how the internet can improve University experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Build web-based projects and edit web-based content.
  2. Conduct research on assigned topics and emerging trends in Online and campus-based education
  3. Assist with special events, functions, and video-based meetings as needed.
  4. Handle documents while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  5. Review new software and solutions that will maximize their value to the organization.
  6. Contribute your own ideas to the team and be comfortable sharing.
  7. Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
  8. Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
  9. Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be work study eligible
  • Aptitude and interest in web development
  • Experience with HTML or Javascript prefer but required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be eligible for federal work-study.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
  • Must be comfortable as an independent learner
  • Experience in an office setting preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (e.g. google sheets)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
  • Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain). Some travel between locations may be required (own transportation). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
