JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Software Engineer will be a part of a cutting-edge and industry-leading team to develop innovative cloud-based web and mobile applications. Creative problem-solving skills and the passion to constantly learn, prototype, and apply cutting-edge technologies are a must. The ideal candidate will have phenomenal development skills, be platform and language agnostic, take ownership of projects and bring fresh, viable ideas and questions to work daily.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Basic understanding of systems and networking concepts
  • JavaScript (Node.js) and a database technology (MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL)   
  • Source code control (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with at least one of the cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, Digital Ocean etc.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Experience with cloud messaging and storage is a bonus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player who can be counted on to do his/her part of the work and be relied on to complete tasks on time and work cooperatively with others
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to find creative solutions to various issues
  • Experience with financial transaction processing a plus
  • Familiarity with the Agile Methodology and strong understanding of the SDLC
  • Ability to communicate with business owners in order to translate requirements into discrete tasks with specifications than can be understood and implemented by other engineers
  • Ability to explain complex processes and mentor less experienced engineers
  • Experience with application-level sec, including authentication, authorization, and zero-trust architecture
  • Some experience with observability, including logging and metrics
  • Understanding of basic CI/CD concepts and tools
  • Experience with Docker-based containerization and familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • 5+ years of full stack development experience
  • Formal educational experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other closely related field is preferred
