Description Full Stack Software Engineer — SuperSonic POS (Tampa, FL | Hybrid)

About SuperSonic POS

Role: Full Stack Software Engineer (Hybrid – Tampa, FL)

This is a full-time, hybrid role with 2 days per week in-office at our Westshore Tampa location. The first 90 days are fully on-site for faster onboarding & integration to the team.

You’ll work across the stack — from our web and mobile front-ends to backend services — to ship features that directly impact thousands of stores.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain full-stack features in our POS and back-office applications
  • Work across modern TypeScript, including both frontend and backend services
  • Develop and consume APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Work with relational databases and caching systems
  • Contribute to system design for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to define and deliver new functionality
  • Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards and patterns
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript
  • Experience with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React)
  • Experience building backend services (e.g., Node.js or similar)
  • Comfortable working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Experience with containers (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and ownership mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or POS/retail systems
  • Experience with in-store hardware integrations (printers, scanners, scales, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with event-driven systems, queues, or streaming
  • Contributions to open source or a strong GitHub/portfolio
