Position Overview

Best Buy is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer IV to join the Stratus Platform team. This team builds and maintains the internal platform that enables engineering teams to deploy applications across cloud and data center environments. The ideal candidate will drive the design and delivery of major platform capabilities, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the modernization of the deployment platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable full-stack applications and platform capabilities.
  • Break down complex technical initiatives into manageable work items with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Build and enhance cloud deployment and platform automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Support platform modernization initiatives and cloud infrastructure improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of application development experience.
  • 3+ years of full-stack application development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of software design, application architecture, and modern development practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS Cloud Administration.
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure or Platform Operations.
  • Experience with AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
  • Experience with Argo CD.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers.
