A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience and three years professional experience. Two years of GIS experience required.
Job Description:
GIS System Design and Quality Assurance - Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications, automated workflows, scripts, and data processes that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data quality of GIS systems. Support integrations between GIS and enterprise systems where applicable. Assist with documentation of integrations and system processes to support continuity and long-term maintenance. Perform and coordinate QA/QC processes to identify discrepancies and reconcile information across multiple data sources and systems. Develop, document, and maintain data standards, workflows, and procedures to support consistent data management and long-term usability. Assist with the review of facility drawings, spatial datasets, and documentation for completeness, consistency, and accuracy. Coordinate GIS-related tasks and workflows across departments and translate operational needs into technical GIS requirements.
GIS Support- Maintain and oversee GIS datasets related to campus infrastructure, utilities, facilities, buildings, and property assets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems. Perform spatial data editing, maintenance, reconciliation, and updates using GIS, CAD, BIM, and related technologies. Support integration between GIS, Autodesk products, document management systems, and other facility-related platforms. Compile, organize, and maintain spatial and tabular datasets from surveys, as-builts, construction documents, field observations, and institutional records.
GIS Reporting and Analysis - Create maps, dashboards, reports, visualizations, and spatial analyses to support operational needs, planning efforts, facilities management, utilities, and university decision-making. Support the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of GIS web applications, mobile tools, and data services. Assist with identifying opportunities to improve accessibility and usability of spatial data resources for campus stakeholders.
Strategic and Departmental Support -Support strategic initiatives involving campus space, infrastructure, and facilities data. Assist in maintaining documentation related to GIS systems, datasets, and operational procedures. Participate in special projects. Collaborate across functional areas, including facilities, utilities, planning, construction, and operations, to ensure GIS data and workflows align with business and operational requirements. Provide technical support, guidance, and training to internal users related to GIS resources, applications, and workflows. Respond to stakeholder requests for maps, data, and spatial analysis support.
Other Duties as Assigned - Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor to support department and university operational needs.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
• Normal work schedule: Monday through Friday, 08:00 am to 05:00 pm
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule is required to meet department demand of occasional evening or weekend work (including emergency situations) to ensure business operations are functioning optimally during extended hours. Emergency situations may include computer or server failures, application issues, or other IT-related problems. This position may be an after-hours on-call position.
Expected Salary:
$70,000.00 to $85,000.00 Annually
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience and three years professional experience. Two years of GIS experience required.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
  • Familiarity or experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM.
  • Familiarity with utilities and IT infrastructure, networks, and drone mapping is helpful but not required.
  • Working knowledge of GIS devices and imagery preferred.
  • The ability to read plats/legal descriptions is appropriate but not mandatory.
