Overview
TRC, now a member of WSP, is seeking a Survey Project Coordinator to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of pipeline, utility, energy, renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure surveying projects.
Working under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor and/or Survey Project Manager, this position coordinates communication and project information between field crews, office staff, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and positioned for successful delivery.
The Survey Project Coordinator combines technical surveying knowledge with strong organizational and communication skills to support project execution throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project startup activities by organizing project documentation, field packages, schedules, and survey information under the direction of the Professional Land Surveyor or Survey Project Manager.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of pipeline, utility, energy, renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure surveying projects.
  • Coordinate communication between field crews, office personnel, project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Assist with preparing project work packages, exhibits, maps, survey records, field information, and project deliverables.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource assignments, communicating potential issues or schedule impacts.
  • Process, organize, and review survey data, field notes, exhibit, plats, and other project documentation prior to technical review by a Professional Land Surveyor.
  • Facilitate document management, quality control processes, electronic file organization, and project record retention.
  • Support project reporting by tracking labor hours, budgets, schedules, and key performance metrics.
  • Assist with project invoicing by verifying project documentation, completed work, and billing information.
  • Coordinate utility requests, permits, survey records, right-of-way information, subcontractor activities, and project logistics.
  • Support proposal preparation, project startup, change management documentation, and project closeout activities.
  • Promote TRC's commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.

Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of surveying, survey project coordination, or project support experience.
  • Experience supporting pipeline, electric transmission and distribution, substations, renewable energy, utility, or other energy infrastructure surveying projects.
  • Working knowledge of boundary, topographic, construction, right-of-way, and utility surveying principles and practices.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, and digital survey workflows.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, documentation, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating field activities, schedules, resource assignments, documentation, and communication between office and field personnel.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel occasionally.

Preferred
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or actively pursuing Professional Land Surveyor licensure.
  • Experience with GIS, UAV, terrestrial laser scanning, LiDAR, or reality capture technologies.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering or consulting projects.
  • You are organized, dependable, and detail-oriented with a passion for supporting successful project execution.
  • You communicate effectively, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and excel at coordinating information, schedules, and project documentation.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, GIS platforms, cloud collaboration tools, digital document management systems, and project management software to coordinate, organize, track, process, review, and support project activities.
  • Support and coordinate multidisciplinary teams delivering boundary, topographic, right-of-way, utility, renewable energy, transmission, pipeline, transportation, and infrastructure surveying projects while helping ensure safe, high-quality, and timely project delivery.
  • Primarily office-based with occasional field visits. Ability to travel to project sites, traverse uneven terrain, and occasionally lift survey equipment up to approximately 30 pounds.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
