Job description

Position: GIS Analyst

Compensation: $27 - $30 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled GIS Analyst to join their team!

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented GIS professional to support major substation and transmission projects. In this role, you’ll contribute to critical mapping, data analysis, and GIS production work that helps project teams move forward efficiently and accurately. If you enjoy working with diverse data sources, collaborating across teams, and supporting meaningful infrastructure work, this could be a strong fit.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support GIS mapping for substation engineering and design teams
  • Create and update GIS maps, layers, and project deliverables
  • Perform GIS data analysis, maintenance, and preparation
  • Use aerial imagery, LiDAR, and other sources for feature extraction
  • Assist with projections, transformations, and georeferencing tasks
  • Collect and post-process GPS data with high accuracy
  • Research parcel ownership and land survey records
  • Coordinate data between GIS and CAD platforms
  • Communicate project status with internal and external teams

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or related field
  • 1–3 years of related GIS experience
  • Experience in the ArcGIS desktop environment
  • Strong basic GIS and data analysis skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

  • ArcGIS Pro experience
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • GPS project experience
  • Utility industry experience
  • Transmission or substation project experience
  • CAD platform experience
