KCW Engineering Technologies, Inc. is recruiting for an Electrical Distribution Designer with experience in completing detailed designs of overhead and underground electric distribution projects and knowledge of the GWD system.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete fieldwork to field-truth construction drawings. Make sketches, take photos, measure conductor distances with a laser rangefinder.
  • Convert GIS data to and from many different coordinate systems. Copy, edit and reconcile conflicts through enterprise version control software.
  • Combine powerful GIS capabilities with engineering standards to create high-quality construction documents.
  • Ensure the highest quality product for our client.
  • Preparation of field notes and engineering/construction drawings.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and governmental agencies.
  • Creating, editing, and updating point, line, and polygon features with complex relational databases.
  • Import high-resolution CAD drawings into GIS feature classes with extreme accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3ย years' experience in Electrical Distribution Engineering.
  • Experience working in Pepcoโ€™s GWD system is a requirement for this position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented individual.
  • Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Collaborative with and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.
  • Must be comfortable in both a field and office setting.

  • Position eligible for overtime
  • Position eligible for discretionary bonuses at the sole discretion of the company
