Job Summary
The Work Study Student will support the Museum as a Visitor Service Associate on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Employment is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
  • Greets, supervises, and assists all visitors in the exhibit areas and gift shop
  • Leads tours and presents programs for scheduled groups
  • Conducts sales and manages inventory in the gift shop
  • Sets up and takes down exhibits
  • Performs general office and administrative support duties, including answering telephones, filing documents, making copies, entering data, running errands, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Assists with various marketing mailings and accounting tasks
  • Assists in collections

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 12 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Must be able to work in minimum of 2-3 hour blocks

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working with children and operating a cash register
  • Strong background in customer service

Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
