Miracle Flights Seeks Manager of Fundraising & Events

The Manager of Fundraising & Events is responsible for planning, executing, and growing Miracle Flights’ fundraising events and community-based fundraising initiatives. This role leads the organization’s signature fundraising events while expanding third-party and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives that increase revenue, build awareness, and engage new supporters nationwide.

The Manager develops meaningful opportunities for individuals, businesses, schools, community organizations, and volunteers to raise funds on behalf of Miracle Flights. Working collaboratively across the philanthropy team, this position creates exceptional event experiences that inspire generosity and cultivate future donors, sponsors, and advocates.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Miracle Flights’ annual fundraising event strategy.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate all organization-hosted fundraising events from concept through post-event stewardship.
  • Develop event timelines, budgets, vendor contracts, logistics, volunteer plans, and event operations.
  • Manage event registration, guest experience, auctions, raffles, sponsorship fulfillment, and day-of execution.
  • Identify opportunities to increase event revenue, attendance, sponsorships, and donor engagement.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend improvements for future events.
  • Develop and lead Miracle Flights’ national third-party and peer-to-peer fundraising program.
  • Recruit and support individuals, businesses, schools, civic organizations, and community groups interested in fundraising for Miracle Flights.
  • Partner with the Impact team to develop fundraising toolkits, event guidelines, branding resources, and promotional materials for community fundraisers.
  • Provide coaching and support to volunteer event organizers.
  • Build a pipeline of recurring community fundraising partners.
  • Ensure all third-party fundraising activities align with Miracle Flights’ brand standards and fundraising policies.
Sponsorship Support
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and event partnership packages.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Philanthropy to identify, cultivate, and secure event sponsors.
  • Coordinate sponsor benefits before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure sponsors receive exceptional recognition and stewardship throughout the partnership.
Volunteer & Community Engagement
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers supporting fundraising events.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, volunteer committees, and local organizations.
  • Represent Miracle Flights at community events, networking functions, and partnership meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to increase community awareness and participation across key markets.
Revenue & Performance Management
  • Develop annual revenue goals for events and community fundraising.
  • Manage event budgets and expense tracking.
  • Prepare performance reports and recommendations for leadership.
Donor Experience
  • Partner with the Philanthropy Associate to ensure timely acknowledgment of event participants, volunteers, sponsors, and community fundraisers.
  • Work with the Director of Philanthropy to transition new event and community fundraising donors into the organization’s ongoing stewardship and cultivation strategy.
  • Identify participants with major gift, corporate partnership, or volunteer leadership potential.
Project Management & Administration
  • Maintain event calendars, project plans, and fundraising timelines.
  • Coordinate contracts, insurance requirements, permits, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure accurate participant records, sponsorship tracking, and reporting in Bloomerang.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Associate on registration, gift processing, acknowledgments, and event administration.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three or more years of nonprofit fundraising, event management, community engagement, or development experience.
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing fundraising events.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Bloomerang or a comparable fundraising CRM.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Salary: Compensation starting at $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.The range listed is just one component of Miracle Flights’ total compensation package for employees.
