Description
Purpose and Scope
The Supply Chain Planner shall support the Manager, Supply Chain Operations and Services and be responsible for end-to-end planning and coordination for Scriptures and other materials across forecasting, inventory management, supply planning, procurement alignment, vendor coordination, logistics support, and performance reporting. This role helps ensure that Global Supply Chain and Logistics can identify and meet the global needs of the Association's membership. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capability with practical supply chain execution skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across planning, publishing, procurement, warehousing, and distribution activities.
Essential Job Functions
Scripture Inventory and Demand Analysis
• Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, annual goals, and projections from USA, National Associations, and International Countries
• Data Analysis: Analyze Scripture usage & sales data, inventory levels, and ministry conditions to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for inventory planning
• Supply Planning: Translate demand signals into supply and replenishment plans by balancing inventory targets, lead times, print schedules, warehouse capacity, and ministry priorities.
• Work closely with Manager, Scripture Publishing and Procurement to determine priorities, print quantities, and printer choice for Scripture orders
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Inventory Analysts and Operational Managers to ensure that Scripture inventory levels are optimized globally to meet demand while minimizing excess stock and shortages
• Coordination: Work closely with the Headquarters staff, warehouse/3PL partners, and print partners to align projections with planned largescale Scripture distributions.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on demand forecasts, inventory status, goals and any deviations from the plan. Highlight potential risks and opportunities to leadership and maintain history of shipments
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve demand planning processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Implement best practices and utilize forecasting tools and software as necessary
• Collaboration: Develop relationships and facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment on demand planning and inventory management strategies
• Risk and Exception Management: Identify potential supply disruptions, capacity constraints, and inventory imbalances early; escalate issues and recommend contingency actions to protect service levels
• KPI and Process Governance: Monitor forecast accuracy, inventory health, lead times, fill rates, back orders, and other supply chain KPIs; support standard work, data integrity, and continuous process improvement
Global Supply Chain & Logistics Department Support
• Assist Global Supply Chain and Logistics with projects as needed
• Assist Global Supply Chain and Logistics by collecting and interpreting data as well as drafting, organizing, editing, and finalizing reports
• Assist the Global Supply Chain and Logistics director in tracking Input/Output Scripture inventory and evaluating storage and delivery solutions
• Assist in the development and implementation of approved initiatives for The Gideons International efforts around the world, evaluating for quality, speed, cost, and flexibility
• Develop and support efforts to update and maintain systems of record, aligning with real-world processes and supporting training efforts
• Assist in compiling, monitoring, and reporting KPIs
• Assist in tracking inventory and storage evaluations
• Support cross-functional supply chain initiatives involving planning, procurement, vendor performance, logistics optimization, and systems/process improvement.
• Assist with supply chain business reviews by preparing analyses on service, cost, lead time, capacity, and inventory performance to support leadership decision-making.
Other Essential Functions
• Participate in department team meetings
• Other duties as assigned
Staff Devotions
• Participate in daily morning staff devotions. Serve by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leaders on a rotating basis.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, inventory management, procurement coordination, logistics operations, or related supply chain roles, preferably in an international setting
• PC experience, especially in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
• Successful completion of a drug and background screen
Preferred Qualifications
• NetSuite experience preferred
