Based in the US, the Senior Pricing Analyst will be a key contributor in global activities related to billing rate and alternative fee arrangement administration as well as profitability analyses on legal matters.
The position will report to the Senior Pricing Manager.
Responsibilities include:
  • Evaluating local market trends and identifying opportunities with respect to billing rates, profitability, and value-based billing.
  • Assisting attorneys with developing pricing proposals for client pitches.
  • Modeling matter profitability and providing pricing analytics to support pricing decisions for firm management and attorneys.
  • Researching and identifying comparable firm matters to provide a baseline for billing attorneys in developing budgets for new matters.
  • Designing templates to assist attorneys with budgets.
  • Liaising with the Project Performance Management team to monitor budgets and providing re-pricing recommendations.
  • Conducting period audits of the Firm's rates and special fee arrangements database.
  • Creating analyses and designing reports or presentations to showcase pricing trends.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure that the correct data is being captured and that the appropriate tools are available to provide accurate pricing analytics.
  • Analyzing client performance data to identify pricing opportunities.
  • Performing ad hoc analyses using the firm's various data stores and tools.
  • Completing special projects on various issues as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of legal pricing and profitability drivers.
  • Must be a proactive, self-starter who understands the details and can integrate them into a much larger strategic context.
  • Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
  • Must have a strong customer focus, be responsive, work well under pressure and continually strive for efficiency and excellence.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability required.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation; Power Query and/or VBA a plus).
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs and client information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills are required to build and maintain effective relationships with senior management, attorneys and staff.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Preferred fields of study include business, economics, law, finance, accounting, or project management.
  • At least 3 years of financial, procurement and/or pricing experience
  • Large law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with financial management systems (i.e., Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar) or business intelligence tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms) are preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $100-130k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
