Description

A Senior/Principal Sustainability Consultant will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and will lead a small team of junior consultants. Working on both national and international client cases. What we expect can be divided in two major areas: Client & Project Delivery & Business Development

Key Responsibilities
  • Client & Project Delivery • Project Management – managing the delivery of agreed consulting engagements / projects on time, on budget and to high standards of quality.
  • Expert input and QA – reviewing project work and providing expert viewpoint and quality assurance on deliverables as needed.
  • Deliverable Drafting & Presentation – preparing and delivering high quality reports, presentations, and sometimes workshops in line with project scope.
  • Business Development • Supporting the development of proposals and contributing to the presentation and conversion of these opportunities, in collaboration with the guidance and support of commercial colleagues.
  • Service development - Contributing to the development of new service offerings and/or streamlining and improving existing service offerings including creating delivery and proposal templates, providing training and acting as internal expert on a specific service.
  • Depending on your prior knowledge and interests, you can focus on specific areas within your projects, such as GHG calculations, Decarbonisation and Supplier engagement, LCA analysis, the circular economy and so on.
  • You act as the strategic point of contact for the client, manage a small team of junior consultants and further develop the Belgian market together with your commercial colleagues.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Demonstrated consulting experience or on Client side in a role related to sustainability (min 5 years).
  • Strong technical expertise in GHG accounting across scope 1,2 and 3 and decarbonisation planning, including supplier engagement with proven ability to manage complex full value chain analysis.
  • Experience with due diligence requirements – both voluntary (e.g., SBTi, Ecovadis, etc.) and regulatory (e.g., CSDDD, EUDR, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above is a must) for data analysis and modelling.
  • Strong project management, written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and client education and involvement.
  • You have completed University or High School education in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Sustainable Energy Technology, Climate Studies, Business Administration, Sustainability Science and Policy or a related field.
  • Personal attributes – You have a strong interest in sustainability topics such as climate change, circular economy, energy transition, sustainability, … You are able to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics. You are organised, methodological and analytical. You are proactive with the ability and confidence to take initiative. You are a team player and love to work in an international setting. You are fluent in Dutch (native or full working proficiency) and English. Knowledge of French is a plus. The native language part is crucial.
