Job description

You

Are you a people-person who loves to build community? Would you love to be the part of a nationwide movement to help humanity thrive after AI, attracting people with your charm and wit? Can you win trust across a wide range of people, from the general public to influential people in business and government, and from small-town America to the big city? Does it excite you to learn, think, and understand everything around you?

Are you searching for a high-impact, mission-driven, high-growth-potential career where you finish every day knowing that your work actually makes a difference across the country? Do you want to work in a company which is small enough that you'll work directly with the CEO (and won't be in danger of corporate restructuring), yet so high-impact that they're regularly in national news?

Us

We love humanity. We love thinking. We tour the entire country, with such intensity that The Wall Street Journal comes along (https://poshenloh.com/wsj-tour).

We are inventors. We bridge worlds. Such as connecting professional actors with live-streaming math geniuses (CNN got excited: https://www.cnn.com/world/professor-po-shen-loh-actors-classrooms-spc), to create a totally new way to transform math class into free-flowing creative thinking, collaborative brainstorming, and entertainment. Nothing like what anyone has experienced before.

Just in time. AI is about to disrupt society. Education needs to shift immediately, to teach people how to think dynamically. But bureaucracy is slow. We've invented the world's most efficiently-scalable ecosystem for delivering dynamic education, immediately, today.

We know what we are doing, and have the connections to get things done. Our founder is world-renowned Carnegie Mellon math professor Po-Shen Loh. He served a decade-long term as the national coach of the USA Math Olympiad team, during which it scored more world-#1 victories than any other decade. He's made discoveries ranging from education (reported in the New York Times) to pandemic control.

Bridging Worlds

You will play a pivotal role in a revolutionary new model that creates new opportunities across the country.

For the first time in history, we can solve the opportunity gap blocking curious and motivated students in big cities like New York City or small towns like Polson, Montana. Now we can live-stream that expertise anywhere, no matter how widely distributed by providing full-tuition scholarships to our LIVE Math Classes.

We already have strong interest from many influential partners and schools across the country. Your primary job would be to support our current scholars and families, build new partnerships, talk to school leaders and parents and students to bring people into our programs (and transform lives). Youโ€™ll represent our team to our current scholars who come from major metro areas and small towns across the country. Youโ€™ll lead parent/family-facing scholarship program sessions in Spanish and English as needed. Youโ€™ll also support family communications in Spanish and English.

You don't have to be a math genius, but you do need to love thinking, learning, and understanding.

Requirements

  • Ambition and passion for education equity and accessibility to make a real impact in the world through hard, but rewarding work
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
  • Authorization to legally work in the United States
  • Fluent in Spanish and English to support scholarโ€™s families to help them succeed
  • Confidence communicating on camera, on live-stream, and in-person
  • Empathy to rapidly identify real needs of collaborators
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple communication channels, datasets, and documents
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail
  • Energized by and committed to social mission, even when work is less glamorous
  • Positive energy, even in intense situations
  • Former public school teacher is a plus
  • Strong candidates based in New York City may be considered, but Pittsburgh is preferred
  • Optional travel opportunities (up to approximately 10% of work time) may be available for school visits and community events
