Job description

Source Inspector – Machined Parts

Position: On-Site Source Inspector
Industry: Aerospace – Supplier

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform source inspection of precision machined components at supplier facilities before shipment.
  • Review engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspections per AS9102 requirements.
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM reports, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, quality requirements, and purchase order specifications.
  • Review material certificates, process certifications, CoC, and inspection records for traceability.
  • Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.
  • Approve or reject parts for shipment and prepare detailed source inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with supplier quality, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
