Within OneSuite, Agent Studio is the front-end experience layer: an intuitive, conversational workspace that empowers marketers to design, manage, and interact with AI agents across Search, Social, Programmatic, and Commerce channels.

About the RoleWe are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the architecture, delivery, and evolution of OneSuite's user experience layer. You will manage multiple product teams and lead the engineering strategy for Agent Studio combining deep frontend architectural expertise, AI-driven UI innovation, and scalable team leadership.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, design, and AI, overseeing 8-15 engineers (including other managers and senior ICs) and driving cross-charter collaboration to deliver a cohesive, high-performance user experience across the OneSuite ecosystem.

Your Impact Lead and scale the Agent Studio engineering organization, ensuring excellence in architecture, delivery, and execution across multiple teams. Shape the technical and product strategy for Agent Studio, translating user-centric design goals into scalable, intelligent UI systems. Develop engineering managers and senior ICs, creating a strong leadership pipeline within the charter. Partner with Product leadership to ensure that engineering execution aligns with the broader OneSuite platform strategy and marketing business outcomes. Champion the Agent Studio tenets User-Centric Empowerment, Intuitive & Unified Experience, Intelligent & Actionable Guidance across every aspect of development.

Responsibilities

Technical & Product Leadership Define and implement the Agent Studio technical roadmap in alignment with OneSuite's platform mission. Architect and evolve React-based systems for conversational, AI-integrated experiences. Design scalable, real-time user interactions using WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, and streaming APIs for responsive AI agent communication. Drive engineering standards for accessibility, performance (<500 ms response), and cross-device optimization. Partner with AI Orchestration, Data Foundation, and SRE charters to ensure seamless integration and consistent reliability.

People Leadership & Organizational Development Manage 8-15 engineers across multiple product teams (and managers), setting clear goals, expectations, and delivery accountability. Mentor engineering managers and senior ICs to grow technical and leadership capability. Build team structure, capacity plans, and resource strategies in collaboration with product leadership. Foster a culture of technical excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Multi-Functional & Cross-Product Collaboration Align product execution with the strategic objectives of the OneSuite platform and the Performics Product Organization. Partner with Product leadership to coordinate cross-product initiatives and shared engineering practices. Represent engineering in product leadership discussions, advocating for scalability, innovation, and development based on user needs. Collaborate closely with UX and AI design teams to ensure cohesive, data-informed user experiences.

Engineering Execution & Quality

Maintain a focus on code quality, testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright), CI/CD automation, and release reliability.

Define key performance metrics and ensure delivery against quality, uptime, and velocity goals.

Own user documentation, develop systems, and component library evolution.

Drive adoption of emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and performance optimization strategies.

Qualifications

Core Expertise 8-12 years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management leading multi-team or large-scale product delivery. Proven track record leading frontend architecture for complex, enterprise-grade applications. Expert-level skills in React, TypeScript, Next.js, and modern state-management (Redux, Zustand). Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs and streaming data into conversational or data-driven interfaces. Solid grounding in accessibility, security, and performance optimization for large-scale systems. Strong grasp of DevOps and cloud deployment (Docker, AWS/GCP) for frontend applications.

Leadership Skills Demonstrated success managing and developing engineering managers and senior individual contributors. Ability to collaborate effectively with senior product and business collaborators. Skilled at balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural vision. Strong communicator with a bias toward transparency, clarity, and alignment.

Bonus Points Experience with AI-integrated UX, conversational design, or agentic interfaces. Familiarity with marketing data workflows, campaign management, or analytics visualization. Contributions to open-source projects in frontend or UI frameworks dedicated to technology. Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, or RAG-based UX architectures.

Compensation Range: $132,715.00 - $208,840.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
