Your Role:

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to work within MilliporeSigma Process Solutions Aseptic Filtration R&D. This position will be based at our Bedford, MA campus. As part of our R&D organization, you will be responsible for research and development projects for novel filtration products/technologies that enable the future manufacturing of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals.

You will be a critical member of R&D solving complicated technical problems to deliver future filtration technologies for a wide range of bioprocessing applications. Activities may include analyzing problems, evaluating novel technologies and concepts at bench and pilot scale, conceptualizing a technical path forward, scaling-up to manufacturing process, and/or commercializing of new products. This position offers the opportunity to apply solid scientific and engineering principles as well as institutional knowledge, to solve complex scientific and engineering problems.

This position may include domestic travel (10-30%)

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science or other Engineering field with 5+ years industry experience in an Engineering role

OR

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science or other Engineering field with 4+ years industry experience in an Engineering role

OR

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science or other Engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling software (Solidworks, Creo)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in filtration device making and application
  • Experience in project management, budgeting, risk assessment (e.g. FMEA), validation, and post launch support
  • Team player able to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization
  • Result oriented with unwavering resolve to meet project timelines and project needs
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation
  • Ability to think independently to achieve project goals
  • Demonstrated experience solving complicated technical problems
  • Good track record of new product and/or process development and validation experience
  • Technical expertise in designing and conducting experiments in laboratory or manufacturing setting with good trouble shooting, problem solving and statistical analysis skills
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories thru literature, conferences and workshops
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to different parts of the organization

Pay Range for this position: $84,900 - $127,300

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation forthis position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
