Role Description The Adult–Geriatric Occupational Therapist will provide on-site occupational therapy services to adult and older adult clients at Trinity Rehabilitation & Wellness in Cary, NC. This contract role involves evaluating functional abilities, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and using therapeutic activities to enhance independence in activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, documenting patient progress, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and educating patients, caregivers, and families on home programs and adaptive strategies. The Occupational Therapist will also recommend and train clients in the use of adaptive equipment, ensure safety and fall-prevention strategies, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to design and deliver evidence-based interventions for adult and geriatric clients.
  • Knowledge of Medicine and clinical conditions that commonly affect adult and older adult populations, enabling appropriate treatment planning and collaboration with medical providers.
  • Excellent Communication skills for interacting with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members, including clear documentation and education.
  • Experience or familiarity with Pediatrics is beneficial for providers who may occasionally consult on lifespan or family-based care needs.
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist in North Carolina and graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Prior clinical experience in adult or geriatric settings such as outpatient rehab, skilled nursing, or home health is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, manage a varied caseload, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements.
  • Commitment to inclusive, culturally competent care and adherence to professional and ethical standards in all aspects of practice.
