This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while you contribute from the comfort of your home. You will work standard hours from Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with occasional evening shifts based on patient scheduling needs. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the cognitive, emotional, and physical requirements of older adults.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based interventions with considerations of patients' health, identity, and social circumstances.
• Facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, employing techniques that address the specific psychiatric challenges faced by the geriatric population.
• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and adhere to best practices in geriatric mental health.
• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, offering vital support to patients in distress.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, effective therapeutic strategies, and community resources available to them.
• Maintain compliance with ethical standards through accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress.
• Engage actively in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric mental health.
• Stay current with research advancements in the field, bringing innovative treatment options to our practice.

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, working to alleviate symptoms of common mental health disorders that affect older adults. You will encounter a diverse group of patients, many of whom may be experiencing complex challenges related to aging, including cognitive decline and social isolation.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Kansas.
• A minimum of two years post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for experience in geriatric mental health.
• A robust understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and proven evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care.
• Demonstrated capacity to build rapport and trust with elderly patients and their families, fostering a safe therapeutic environment.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems and various computer applications.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of collaboration and shared expertise.

• Experience in conducting individual and family therapy specifically tailored to the needs of older adults.
• Knowledge of community resources for elderly patients and their families.
• Previous involvement in treatment planning and execution within a geriatric psychiatry practice.
