This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility while still enabling strong team collaboration through virtual meetings and ongoing consultations. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient demands.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that take into account the physical, cognitive, and social dynamics affecting older adults.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that address the unique psychiatric and emotional needs of each patient.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, to effectively manage complex geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Engage in collaborative care with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient treatment.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support in mental health emergencies, tailoring responses to individual patient needs.
• Educate elderly patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources available for additional support.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate in regular team meetings, case discussions, and professional development initiatives to continuously improve service delivery and personal expertise.
• Remain current on the latest advancements and research in geriatric mental health to enhance therapeutic practices.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Willow Counseling Center, your primary focus will be on the geriatric population. You will work closely with elderly patients experiencing a diverse array of mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, and adjustments resulting from life transitions or illnesses. The role will require building trust and rapport with patients, fostering a safe environment where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• Proven experience delivering mental health services, with a strong emphasis on geriatric care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, alongside a patient-centered and empathetic approach to therapy.
• Competence in establishing rapport with elderly patients and their families to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other technological tools to enhance service delivery.

• A minimum of two years post-licensure experience focusing on geriatric mental health disorders and treatment strategies.
• Demonstrable ability to employ evidence-based methods in providing individual and family therapy.
• Familiarity with community resources and support systems beneficial for elderly patients.
