The IT Procurement Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the procurement of IT-related goods, software and services through enterprise procurement platforms with a strong emphasis on category management and operational support. This position involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating enterprise-wide contracts, and ensuring that all technology purchases align with the company's needs and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Process Management:
• Manage end-to-end IT procurement processes using SAP/SRM and GEP Source-to-Pay platforms for requisitioning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and category management best practices
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards while utilizing analytics tools to drive category insights
Category Management and Strategic Support:
• Lead category management initiatives including market analysis, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing
• Develop and maintain category strategies that optimize value, reduce risk, and enhance supplier performance
• Conduct spend analysis to identify cost savings opportunities and support business units with procurement planning
Vendor Relations and Contract Management:
• Identify and evaluate potential vendors through RFI and RFP processes while establishing strong relationships with key IT vendors
• Negotiate favorable terms and conditions using category leverage and manage vendor onboarding through enterprise systems
• Draft, review, and manage software, hardware, and services contracts while handling renewals and ensuring compliance tracking
Budget and Cost Management:
• Collaborate with finance to establish and manage budgets while understanding CapEx vs O&M project treatment
• Analyze procurement expenditure using SAP/SRM and GEP analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure all purchases align with allocated budgets through system controls and approval workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration and Operational Support:
• Collaborate with IT, legal, finance, and other departments to understand and meet procurement needs
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and participate in cross-functional teams supporting strategic initiatives
• Deliver comprehensive procurement support ensuring seamless operations across business units while maintaining KPIs
Market Analysis and Documentation:
• Conduct market research on trends, pricing, and product availability while partnering with business units to evaluate new solutions
• Maintain accurate procurement records using SAP/SRM and GEP documentation capabilities
• Prepare procurement reports for management and ensure audit compliance through systematic record-keeping
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in IT with category management exposure • Experience with SAP/SRM and GEP Source-to-Pay procurement platforms and strong negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced contract negotiation experience with demonstrated cost savings achievements • Category management certification or relevant procurement credentials (CPSM, CPPM, or similar)
• Previous software sales experience demonstrating market knowledge and relationship-building skills
