EcoMech is looking for a Geothermal Loop & Plumbing Technician in the Atlanta or Palmetto, Georgia area. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about geothermal HVAC and green-energy technology and is excited to grow with our cutting-edge company.

Since we are a small company, the role comes with the opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility and offers opportunities for advancement and promotion.
Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience (e.g., HVAC, gas piping, plumbing, or mechanical technician) in any combination but with an emphasis on plumbing & gas piping; the rest we can train
  • Comfort with simple plumbing and gas piping or enthusiasm to learn
  • Understanding of gas piping and plumbing construction codes or enthusiasm to learn
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and new construction (residential & commercial)
  • Ability to maintain and operate a mini-excavator or similar piece of machinery and willingness to eventually learn how to operate a drilling rig


 

Our Geothermal Loop & Plumbing Technician will take on many responsibilities including:

  • Managing the installation and tie-in of geothermal loops in vertically drilled systems, horizontally trenched systems, or lake-loops
  • Operating a mini-excavator to create trenches and move earth when needed
  • Moving and maintaining machinery
  • Coordinating with drillers to schedule and oversee drilling, grouting, and loop-laying when needed
  • Purging loops and installing flow-centers and other geothermal & HVAC components in the mechanical system
  • Performing the work independently, managing subordinates, and overseeing subcontractors
  • Performing complex gas piping work on residential and commercial new construction projects
