Job description

Geotech engineers

We are a globally recognized infrastructure consulting and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its Sacramento team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to some of California's most significant water and civil infrastructure programs, supporting projects that have a lasting impact on communities across the state. 

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, project leadership, and client-facing experience while working alongside multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Lead geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for major infrastructure projects
  • Support the delivery of complex programs involving dams, levees, tunnels, pipelines, conveyance systems, and related facilities
  • Provide technical oversight and quality review of engineering deliverables
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients throughout project execution
  • Assist with project planning, risk assessment, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team
  • Support business development efforts and help strengthen client relationships

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; California PE strongly preferred 
  • Experience supporting large-scale civil, water, transportation, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical analysis, design, and construction support
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
