Geospatial Analyst Instructor | TS/SCI
Location: Springfield, VA
Overview
Help shape the next generation of GEOINT professionals by supporting NGA College's GEOINT Tradecraft Learning mission in a role that combines geospatial analysis expertise with instructor-led training and mentorship.
As a Geospatial Analyst Instructor, you will deliver engaging instruction that equips students with the practical knowledge and technical skills needed to support real-world intelligence missions. In this role, you will teach approved GEOINT and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) curriculum across classroom, blended, virtual, and other learning environments, with a primary focus on Fundamental-level GEOINT Tradecraft courses and opportunities to support Intermediate-level instruction as qualified. You will guide students through geospatial concepts, ArcGIS Pro, analytic techniques, and mission-relevant GIS workflows while fostering a collaborative learning environment that promotes student success and operational readiness. Beyond classroom instruction, you will collaborate with Course Managers, Faculty Development, and curriculum stakeholders to prepare and maintain course materials, provide technical input for new and updated learning solutions, and ensure instructional content remains current, accurate, and aligned with NGA mission priorities. You will also maintain instructor certifications, uphold high instructional standards, and contribute to a consistent, high-quality learning experience for every student.
If you are passionate about GEOINT, GIS, and mentoring others, this opportunity allows you to apply your operational expertise in a rewarding instructional role while directly contributing to the development of future GEOINT professionals supporting national security missions.
Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Geospatial Analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or GEOINT tradecraft, demonstrating expertise in geospatial methodologies, technologies, and NGA mission workflows
  • Strong working knowledge of Geospatial Applied Skills, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and GEOINT tradecraft, with practical experience using ArcGIS Pro to support geospatial analysis, spatial data creation, visualization, data integration, and mission-focused geospatial workflows
  • Familiarity with NGA, DoD, NSG, or ASG GEOINT analysis, including imagery interpretation, feature extraction, imagery phenomenology, GEOINT product standards, and related mission systems such as RemoteView, Orchestration Services, iSpy, Map of the World, or similar geospatial platforms
  • Ability to deliver instructor-led GEOINT training, including course preparation, facilitation, student engagement, classroom management, and post-course activities while obtaining and maintaining required NGC instructor certifications and course qualifications
  • Experience supporting curriculum maintenance and continuous improvement through course updates, technical input, and ensuring instructional materials remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with NGA mission requirements
  • Knowledge of related GEOINT disciplines such as Collections Management, Geospatial Analysis, Imagery Analysis, and Human Geography Analysis
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with Course Managers, Faculty Development, curriculum stakeholders, and students while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced training environment
