About the Role

Location: Fully remote within the continental United States.

Joinย Nearmap'sย GTM Finance team as the Analyst who helps keep commission plansย accurate, forecasts sharp, and cross-functional partners aligned.ย You'llย sit at theย centerย ofย Nearmap'sย global go-to-market business - building operational budgets, running forecasts, and giving GTM leaders the financial read they need to make real decisions. Thisย isn'tย a back-office reporting seat.ย You'llย supportย planning discussions, and your numbers will shape what GTM departmentsย actually doย next.ย 

Commission work is a core part of the role.ย You'llย help driveย commissionย plan design, own the calculations, and make sure the audit trail holds up - which means working closely with GTM, Sales Operations, Global FP&A, Accounting, Payroll, Legal, and HR. Six different teams, one number that has to be right every time.ย That'sย the job.ย 

We're looking for someone with 2-4 years of experience as a Financial Analyst who already knows their way around KPI reporting, forecasting, and financialย modelingย - someone who builds relationships with stakeholders because they want the full picture, not because it's a line on a performance review. Ifย you'reย a self-starterย who'dย rather flag a problem in commission calculations before it becomes an audit finding, this role is built for you.ย 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Budgeting and forecasting for the Global GTM business, including preparation and presentation of resultsย 
  • Create, implement, andย maintainย a robust expense forecasting process to allow real-time visibility of GTM spendingย ย ย 
  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager and the Director of GTM Finance in the strategic decision-making processย 
  • Ensure costs incurred by the business are in line with budget expectations,ย escalating material variances to the Commercial Finance Managerย in a timely mannerย 
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports for key stakeholdersย 
  • Assistย in forecasting and budgeting sales commissions, ensuring they align with overall businessย objectivesย and growth targetsย 
  • Support the Accounting team inย timelyย andย accurateย preparation of monthlyย GTM spendย accruals and reconciliations for commissions accountingย 
  • Monitor and provide management reporting and analysis on the competitive landscapeย ย ย 
  • Ad Hoc projects and requests, as neededย 

Commission Management

  • Manage the commission accrual and payment process for quota carrying resources acrossย Nearmapย 
  • Prepare andย maintainย commission reports and analysis, ensuring they align with company goals and compensation plansย 
  • Report andย analyzeย quota attainment metricsย 
  • Identifyย and track key operational metrics to measure leading indicators of performanceย 
  • In partnership withย the Global HR Team,ย supportย the end-to-end Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) letterย process, including drafting,ย distributingย andย maintainingย accurateย records to ensure all quota-carrying resources receiveย timelyย and compliant compensation agreementsย ย 
  • Continuous improvement and optimization of GTM operational processesย

  • Keep up to date andย comply withย all local legislative requirements.ย 
  • Adhere to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conductย 
  • Act in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people.ย 
Qualifications

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance. SaaS or subscription business experience preferredย 
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, or other quantitative fields preferredย 
  • Experience as aย commissionsย administrator preferred, but not compulsoryย 

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal relationship skillsย ย 
  • Effective communication across the organization and multiple geographic regionsย ย 
  • Advanced Excel skillsย 
  • Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skillsย 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environmentย 
  • Organized and meets all deadlinesย 
  • Experience with EPM (e.g. Adaptive, Anaplan) and ERP (e.g. NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) systemsย 
  • Experience with Enterprise CRM (e.g. Salesforce,ย Hubspot)ย 
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)ย
