Vantor is looking for a passionate Geospatial Analyst who wants to help take our geospatial solutions to the next level. Vantor has an immediate need for a Geospatial Analyst to our team at a customer site in Tampa, FL. Located at MacDill AFB, this position requires a minimum of a Secret security clearance. In this role, you will be part of a team using various sources of data to meet challenging, high impact project needs supporting the United States Special Operations Command (US SOCOM).The Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for providing technical support to customer projects involving dynamic geospatial information to meet changing client needs. Key duties will be fusing multiple sources of geospatial and non-geospatial information, publishing geospatial products to a geospatial webserver, training geospatial techniques in ad-hoc environments, migrating, and standardizing large GIS datasets into new geospatial schemas. Additionally, the candidate will possess excellent personal motivation, documentation, and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively as a team or independently. The team is focused on enhancing, improving, and re-purposing an existing collaborative mapping system.

The successful applicant will ensure all the geospatial products created meet quality and material specifications in accordance with customer needs. This position will assist in the implementation of emerging capabilities, using leading edge technologies to perform analysis and derive information from large geospatial data sets. The applicant must be comfortable handling large amounts of disparate data and compiling it into a standardized product. This is a full-time, client-facing position (at Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa FL), so the team member must be able to interface and represent VANTOR to the client, other contractors, and vendors in an appropriate, professional manner.

Responsibilities

The Geospatial Analyst will:

  • Work with your team to deliver custom geospatial analytic solutions to our government customer

  • Perform geospatial functions in support of project development and production

  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional internal and external team members and occasionally third-party vendors, as client requires

  • Implement standards, processes, and procedures governing the operation of the classified geospatial web server

  • Identify and implement improvements to system designs and processing methodologies to improve efficiency, scale, reliability, and mitigate operational risk

  • Maintain production operations and other tasks as needed to satisfy customers and fulfill contractual deliverables

  • Experience with GIS database management/maintenance

  • Transform large, complex, and often disparate data sets and documents into one central and accurate relational ESRI ArcGIS geodatabase

  • Use established standards for content, format, scale, and spatial projection

  • Learns, advise, train and mentor with other team members on technical topics

  • Write and edit procedures, methods, workflow documents and standard operating processes

Job Requirements

This person must possess a strong client focus and personal work ethic and have the following experience:

  • Must possess and can retain an active Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science (GIS) or related field preferred or the equivalent combination education and experience (Master's degree preferred)

  • 1-3 years of work experience in GIS, geospatial data management - strongly prefer experience with ESRI ArcGIS/ArcPro, publishing datasets, SDE

  • Significant experience with geospatial data management, complex APRXs, definitions queries, domains, advanced labelling, advanced symbology, etc.

Preferred Skills

  • ESRI Software experience, ArcPro (preferred)

  • Experience publishing from an SDE to the web

  • Experience with Portal for ArcGIS

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as an individual contributor and team

  • Personal management acumen adequate for autonomous task completion

  • Knowledge of a wide range of research and collection methods and analytical applications to support the all-source requirements and to develop advanced geospatial analytic assessments for the customer

  • Strong communication and documentation skills; candidate must be able to present and deliver products to diverse audiences as needed, sometimes with little notice

  • Experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD data migration to geospatial format and/or experience with other CAD software formats
