Job description

GEOSPATIAL ENGINEER
Work Location: FALLS CHURCH, VA or WASHINGTON, D.C. HYBRID 3 days onsite, and 2 days remote
Clearance Requirement: SECRET security clearance is Preferred, but not required.
INCATech is in search of a Geospatial Embedded Innovation Engineer (EIE) for geospatial support to be delivered primarily on-site at USPIS offices in Falls Church, VA, or Washington, D.C. This geospatial support includes traveling up to seven times per year, to provide support to USPIS personnel during their attendance at Esri conferences and to provide training to USPIS personnel throughout the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify new implementation patterns for ArcGIS software
  • Establish solutions to support USPIS’s mission
  • Implement workflows with ArcGIS software to support operations
  • Broaden the effect of GIS technology on USPIS’s business
Key Goals and Objectives:
The major goals and objectives for the EIEs are envisioned to include but are not limited to the following: The EIEs, in concert with USPS, will be responsible for installation, configuration, and refinement of the ArcGIS Platform to meet or satisfy the operational needs and requirements of the Agency Central Support sites included in the Enterprise Agreement. They would also facilitate reach-back communications with Esri technical staff to assist with resolution of onsite challenges. In addition, the EIEs will support the effective identification and implementation of ArcGIS capabilities for other departments and organizations supported by the Agency Central Support sites. They will help maintain continuity and retain institutional knowledge throughout the lifetime of the EIE support efforts. The EIEs will be tasked with supporting each site’s specific geospatial initiatives, which may include facilitating the identification and scheduling of necessary Esri product training and adoption of potentially innovative new Esri Products.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Related Experience:
  • 6+ years of experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, server, and online)
  • Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Portal for ArcGIS and their associated APIs or interfaces
  • Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, and HTML5
  • Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.
  • Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platform.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field
  • Problem solver able to provide insight and support platform adoption, with focus on rapid, mission focused success
  • Subject matter or domain experience in an area of client demand (Defense, Intel, Fed Civ/Science)
