STEWARD
Reports to Executive Sous Chef; Position is non-exempt
Hotel Heron is looking for full-time stewards to join our team! The Steward/Dishwasher is a crucial part of the team to ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness for our guests. This position is paid hourly, and candidates must be willing to work 40+ hours, 5 days a week.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Wash dishes, glasses, pots and pans by hand or via commercial dish/glass washer
  • Dry and polish all serviceware, glassware and flatware
  • Report any maintenance deficiencies to appropriate resource
  • Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets
  • Removal of garbage and waste to compactors or recycling bins
  • Maintain general cleanliness of dining rooms, kitchens, restrooms and outside areas
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 1 or more year experience of dishwashing or comparable position
  • Ability to operate dish machines, cleaning tools and other required equipment safely
  • Ability to follow instructions, anticipate needs, and multitask
  • Can work individually and within a team environment
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Must be able to move, pull or lift at least 35 pounds
  • Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift
