Job description
Are you an experienced strategic sourcing professional with a passion for driving global procurement strategies, supplier innovation, and cost optimization? At FLSmidth, you'll play a key role in developing world-class sourcing solutions that support the delivery of industry-leading mining technologies.
Working within a global, cross-functional environment, you'll partner with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Operations to build resilient supply chains, optimize supplier performance, and deliver long-term value across our product portfolio.
Your ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sourcing strategies across key categories including castings, forgings, fabricated components, hydraulics, gearboxes, and motors.
Develop strategic sourcing plans at the product level aligned with global category strategies.
Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives through spend analysis, benchmarking, should-cost modelling, supplier consolidation, and value engineering.
Source, evaluate, qualify, and onboard global suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, risk, and performance.
Lead commercial negotiations including long-term agreements, pricing structures, index-based pricing, and volume commitments.
Develop supplier segmentation strategies, identifying critical suppliers, single-source risks, and supply continuity opportunities.
Build strong supplier partnerships while monitoring performance through defined KPIs.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Line Management, Quality, and Operations to align sourcing strategies with business and technical requirements.
Lead supplier value engineering workshops to improve manufacturability, design optimization, and total cost of ownership.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring sourcing strategies align with engineering and manufacturing requirements.
Monitor commodity markets and supply chain trends to support informed sourcing decisions.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical challenges, logistics constraints, and commodity price volatility.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within heavy industry, manufacturing, industrial technology, or mining equipment.
Strong analytical capability with experience in spend analysis, cost modelling, and data-driven decision making.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
Experience working within a complex, matrixed international organisation.
Experience sourcing horizontal mill components.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including casting, machining, fabrication, and assembly.
Understanding of supplier sustainability, ESG requirements, and responsible sourcing practices.
Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM or CSCP are highly regarded.
