The Opportunity:
Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.
As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct mathematical, statistical, and business process analyses using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. As a machine learning engineer on our data team, you'll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that organize, clean, and learn from data.
In this role, you'll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit digital and ML algorithms and technologies. You'll be part of a talented team of AI and ML and data engineers across the company and collaborate with other developers to deliver world class solutions to senior military officials. Your skills and extensive technical expertise will guide customers as they navigate complex geopolitical landscapes, operations, and missions.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications and relational data bases at enterprise scale
  • Experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
  • Experience coding in either Python, R, or R Studio, and SQL
  • Experience building scalable ETL and ELT workflows, including scripting and translating between multiple file formats
  • Experience in a professional work environment working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience at a Combatant Command
  • Experience with distributed data scripting, and computing tools, including Databricks, Spark, AWS EMR, Kafka, Bash and Scala
  • Experience with NoSQL implementation, including MongoDB
  • Experience with data warehousing using AWS Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake
  • Experience with Java and .NET
  • Experience with working on real-time data and streaming applications
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication, organization, and time management skills, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
