Job description

Purpose of Position
Individuals in this position plan, design, and manage day to day operations of projects for the organization. The Senior Environmental Professional ensures sustainability and resilience of infrastructure through large-scale testing, field studies, and numerical simulations. This position works between the natural elements and built environments and would address environmental issues such as waste disposal, soil improvements, site remediation, waste handling, and permitting and regulatory coordination.
Essential Functions
1. Prepare and deliver Phase I ESAs
2. Prepare and deliver Phase II ESAs
3. Field investigations consisting of:
a. Construction monitoring including instrumentation
b. Soil and groundwater sampling
c. Asbestos and Lead-based Paint Assessments
d. Remediation system monitoring and reporting
4. Report writing for Compliance Reporting
5. Project Management of medium to large sized environmental projects including field activities, scheduling, and budgeting
6. Conduct/direct measurements and sample collection including documentation of field tasks, data tabulation, and report preparation.
7. Coordinate subcontractor work including scheduling of field activities and procurement of bids
8. Make engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software
9. Assist and/or lead with proposals and business development activities
10. Quality Control Review of Environmental Reports
11. Works with operations to coordinate field staff on projects as needed
12. Ability to promote environmental engineering/consulting services with local clients and agencies
Physical Demands of Position
While performing the duties of this position the employee may be required to sit, stand,
walk, and use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level to be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs and perform some physical labor
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position will split his/her time between the administrative office and working in the field. It may require traveling up to 50% of the time.

Job Specifications / Requirements
1. Accredited degrees in either: BS Environmental Engineering or BS Geotechnical Engineering, BS Geology
2. 10 to 15 years of experience in the field or related field
3. Wisconsin and Illinois regulatory consulting experience a plus.
4. Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) Licensure in Wisconsin or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
5. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
6. Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat required
