Job description

Senior Project Geologist (P.G.)

Certerra South, LLC. is seeking a licensed Professional Geologist (P.G.) to lead environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects throughout Texas. The position will be based in Dallas, TX.

The preferred candidate will have knowledge and experience in environmental consulting, environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation associated with soil, groundwater, and vapor impacts. Experience and understanding of TCEQ Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Program rules and Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) rules is required. Experience supporting Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), Innocent Owner/Operator Program (IOP), Municipal Setting Designations (MSPs), and Vapor Intrusion Assessments is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology or Earth Science required
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders

Certifications:

  • Must possess current certification as Professional Geologist in Texas
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • TCEQ LPST Specialist
  • Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM)-Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare proposals and workplans for projects including soil/groundwater/vapor assessments, sampling monitoring, and soil and groundwater remediation
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client communications to ensure successful project delivery
  • Direct, supervise, and mentor junior staff professionals, field personnel, and subcontractors supporting project work
  • Perform environmental field work (soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, remediation and UST removal oversight etc.
  • Prepare environmental reports (Phase II ESAs, investigations/assessment reports, work plans, technicals memoranda, groundwater monitoring reports, RDRs, ARFs, SCRs, APARs, RAPs, RACRs, SWPPs, etc.) for client review and submittal to TCEQ or appropriate agency
  • Coordinate regulatory agencies and support project permitting, compliance and closure activities
  • Present to officials with cities and municipalities, as required
  • Discuss finding and options with clients
  • Ability to perform outdoor field work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
