What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with project managers to understand survey requirements and objectives
- Plan, prepare, and organize survey field projects, including the allocation of resources and equipment
- Lead and supervise a survey crew, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient and accurate survey operations
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of survey team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
- Conduct field surveys using various surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, drones, and 3D scanners
- Ensure that surveys are conducted in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and legal requirements
- Oversee the collection of accurate field data and measurements
- Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data
- Review and analyze survey data to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment
- Coordinate with the equipment manager to ensure that all surveying tools are in good working condition
- Communicate with clients to understand their surveying needs and address any concerns or issues
- Provide regular updates on project progress and ensure client satisfaction
- Enforce and adhere to safety protocols during field surveys to prevent accidents and injuries
- Promote a culture of safety within the survey team
What You Bring:
- Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field; Higher education preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying with at least 1 of those years in project management
- Proficient in the use of surveying instruments and software
- Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Drone license is preferred
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices
