We are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership in support of complex geospatial intelligence systems across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other federal partners.

This individual will support the Government in applying a multi-disciplinary systems engineering approach to requirements development, solution design, integration, testing, resiliency, and lifecycle management for enterprise-scale mission systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the Government in systems engineering efforts across large-scale GEOINT mission environments

· Translate mission needs into technical requirements and system capabilities

· Evaluate and improve system architectures, workflows, and cloud-based services

· Provide technical recommendations on solution designs and emerging technologies

· Perform requirements analysis, traceability, and allocation to architecture components

· Support systems integration, verification, validation, and performance engineering activities

· Lead or support:

o Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)

o Course of Action (COA) development

o Trade studies

o Engineering assessments

· Contribute to strategic planning, risk management, interface design, and project execution

· Provide expert guidance on aligning mission vision, strategy, and technical capabilities

· Coordinate engineering efforts across organizational and agency boundaries

· Mentor and oversee junior and senior systems engineering staff

· Apply knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments

The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader who can bridge mission needs and engineering execution while driving innovation across highly complex intelligence systems.

Required Qualifications

· Master’s degree in:

o Systems Engineering

o Engineering

o Physics

o Mathematics

o Computer Science

o Information Technology

o Operations Research

o Engineering Management

o Management Information Systems

o or another related STEM field

· Equivalent expert-level, 18+ years' of systems engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements

· 18+ years' experience supporting Government or industry in one or more of the following:

o DoD/IC Acquisition Processes

o Requirements development

o PPBES

o Large-scale System of Systems environments

o Cloud-based enterprise architectures

· Strong understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle

· TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly

Preferred Qualifications

· Doctorate in a related technical discipline

· Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies

· Software Development Framework certification

· International Council on Systems Engineering Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification

· Professional Engineer (PE) license

· Active participation in professional organizations such as:

o United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation

o Open Geospatial Consortium

o American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

· Extensive experience in geospatial intelligence

· Experience designing solutions using:

o Cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)

o Big Data platforms

o Automation and AI/ML technologies

· Expertise in one or more of the following:

o Photogrammetry

o Remote sensing

o Image science

o Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
