ABOUT US:

GEO Next Generation High School is a part of a network of high-quality charter schools managed by the GEO Foundation. It joins GEO Prep Academy and GEO Prep Mid-City, delivering a high-quality K-12 learning experience to parents and students in the Baton Rouge community. GEO Next Generation High School is a tuition-free, public charter school that began with 9th grade and has added a grade each year over the subsequent years. Our teachers cultivate critical thinking skills students need to understand how the world works around them. Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from elementary to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Through our partnership with the local community college, our students will be able to take dual credit courses with the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost to the student. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge, Teach Like a Champion and blended learning model. We are a TAP school!


REPORTS TO/TERM:

Principal

This is a part time position. (no more than 25 hours weekly)


ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

A Bus Driver is required to perform the following duties:

Work with school leadership to coordinate bus routes

Follow all traffic and safety laws

Oversee bus maintenance

Keep bus clean and free from trash daily

Keep the bus fueled and ready for service

Report student disciplinary issues to school leadership

Follow school policy regarding student discipline

Provide on-site student supervision

Attend appropriate staff meetings and Professional Development opportunities as directed by the Principal

Follow the school's policies and procedures.

Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Principal

Dress professionally

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or higher

Maintain at all times a valid CDL Louisiana driver's license

Sincere desire to work in a diverse K-12 school environment and make a difference in the lives of our students and their families

Experience driving student bus

Excellent driving record

Be able to work a flexible schedule

Must complete State Police Background check
