Job description

Data Analysis:

  • Performs genetic and genomic analysis using a variety of software packages and custom scripting.
  • Carries out genome wide association studies using human and nonhuman primate data, including protein and gene expression quantitative trait loci analyses.
  • Compares experimental data with human studies across genetic and genomic variables.
  • Maintains working knowledge of genomic analysis software including Plink and WGCNA.

Communication and publication:

  • Leads writing of papers from genetic and genomic analysis and presents findings in internal and external meetings.
  • Organizes projects into manuscripts and data packages for broad dissemination of findings.
  • Works with data curation partners to organize and distribute data.

Advises and assists colleagues and collaborators:

  • Determines the appropriate statistical methodology to meet their genetic analysis objectives; uses various statistical and mathematical software packages to summarize and interpret statistical results.
  • Designs, implements, and coordinates study activities and process improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of human genetics and genome-wide association analysis.
  • Skill in use of genetic analysis software.
  • Knowledge of experimental systems including mice, cell models, and non-human primates
