Job description

Position Summary:
quality standards through routine testing, inspection, and documentation. This role requires attention to detail, integrity, and strong analytical skills to perform quality checks and uphold compliance with all food safety procedures and protocols in a production environment. The QC Technician must work collaboratively with other departments while maintaining a high level of professionalism, reliability, and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Perform physical inspections and analytical testing for food safety and product quality in accordance with
Conduct quality control checks including sensory evaluations, seal integrity, date code verification, metal detection monitoring, weight checks, and label accuracy.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), proper housekeeping, and company policies. Place products on hold as needed and follow hold procedures for quality and food safety concerns.
Provide feedback and initiate corrective actions when non-conformance issues are identified.
Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and processing environments at the start of each shift or during changeovers, including ATP and allergen testing.
Collect and maintain retain samples for shelf-life evaluation.
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment in accordance with established schedules.
Accurately complete all required documentation and support smooth shift transitions through verbal and written communication.
Assist in training new QC Technicians on quality procedures and expectations.
Perform additional tasks as directed by Quality Management.
Qualifications:
6 months to 1 year of experience in food safety or quality control within a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety/quality systems.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable.
Ability to read and follow documented protocols and SOPs.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Frequent walking, reaching, stooping, and stair climbing. Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including indoor, warehouse, and occasional outdoor areas.
Clear verbal and written communication required.
