Job description
Bemana is seeking an experienced Generator Technician in the Phoenix/Mesa, AZ Area to join a leading independent provider of commercial generator maintenance, repair, and sales. Established in 1990, our client has the Northeast's largest team of EGSA-certified technicians and a growing nationwide presence.
Our client is seeking a skilled Level III, Generator Technician with advanced experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel, natural gas, and propane generators, as well as automatic transfer switches (ATS) and control systems.
Position Offers:
- $40-$55/hour depending on experience; paid weekly; (If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions)
- Company take-home truck and fuel card; paid door-to-door
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective the first of the month after hire for non-union employees)
- 3% 401(k) company match
- 2 weeks of prorated PTO to start (+11 paid federal holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 5 paid sick days)
- Commission on technician-generated repair work
- Relocation assistance
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial generator systems up to 4MW
- Troubleshoot electrical, engine, and control system issues.
- Perform load bank testing, ATS testing, and system performance checks.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Mentor Generator Technicians I & II.
- Follow safety standards and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of generator service and repair experience.
- Experience with major generator manufacturers (Cummins, Kohler, Generac, CAT, MTU, ASCO).
- Proficient with diagnostic software, multimeters, and load banks.
- Knowledge of NFPA 110, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards.
