Our team is looking for a Generator Service Technician to be responsible for the repair of power generation equipment in the field. This is a great opportunity for a knowledgeable Generator Service Technician to join a company that offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits and career growth.
What are the duties?
Essential Duties, others may be assigned:
  • Preventive maintenance of power generation systems in accordance with company and manufacturers' standards.
  • Installs, repairs, refurbishes or modifies power generation equipment.
  • Perform failure analysis, emergency field service and/or repairs for customers.
  • Service a variety of other brands of power generation equipment.
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours service calls.
  • Operate, drive, and maintain company service truck and parts inventory on truck.
  • Check/repair all supporting systems such as fuel, cooling and electrical systems.
  • Operate generator sets on load banks, check power, leaks and overall performance.
  • Clean, check and recondition used parts, modify new parts.
  • Keep current concerning product changes, specifications, and updates.
  • Compile service reports and generator set test reports.
  • Grow working territory through new Service / PM agreements sold to customers
  • Safe operation of Service Truck
  • Communicate with customers in a professional manner as a company representative
  • Schedule workweek and submit paperwork on a daily basis via work tablet and computer
  • This is a mobile tech position - daily travel and some weekly travel required

Working Conditions (Physical Demands) and Safety:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
  • The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
  • Associate must be able to read and write reports.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

Education/Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma
  • Generator, electrical, and diesel engine technical training
  • Load Bank training or EGSA Certification a huge plus
  • Two year's experience in related field

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the last 3 years.
  • No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 5 years (ie., DUI/DWI).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
