Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Generator Technician on behalf of a well-established company in the Power Generation industry that is currently expanding their team in the Austin, TX area. Any highly experienced gen tech who has worked with diesel and natural gas generator systems, has strong diagnostic abilities, and likes to work independently in the field is encouraged to apply. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of generator systems and associated equipment.

Position Offers:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel and natural gas generators up to 2MW.
  • Diagnose and repair control panel issues and electrical faults.
  • Conduct ATS replacement, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform load bank testing and system performance checks.
  • Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools for troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of generator technician experience.
  • Experience with diesel and natural gas generator systems.
  • Skilled in control panel diagnostics and ATS troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Rehlko or similar OEM brands.
  • Proficient using multimeters, clamp meters, mechanical tools, and fuel-system diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical documentation independently.
