Job title: Route Relations Technician
Job summary: In a mobile workshop that we provide, this employee provides car maintenance and repair services to dealerships and our retail clients. This position requires travel up to 3 hours in any direction out of the Quad Cities to fill in gaps, assist other employees, and/or cover routes for other employees. It is a sales-focused position where you must drum up business for other technicians. You would also assist our home base in Hiawatha, Iowa. Must have experience in the Automotive Industry and building customer relations.
Company car provided for work-related purposes.
Minimum qualifications: Valid Drivers License, car industry experience, and communication skills.
Skills: Self-starting, team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service. Communication with fellow team members, service/sales managers, and retail customers. Experience in automotive maintenance and repair. Daily flexibility, prioritization skills, and a controlled demeanor are essential. Working knowledge of shop equipment (automotive equipment, generator, air compressor, etc.) Organized, clean, and able to maintain all tools, machines, and inspection areas. Ensure all tools and machines are in good working order. Maintain a clean and safe work environment including using all safety equipment and following all safety procedures. Ability to drive 2500 pickup with a 14ft trailer.
Compensation: Salary + commission.
Working conditions: Physically demanding! This position requires standing on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods of time and working in an environment that frequently experiences extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes. To succeed in this position, you must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, turn your head, neck, and shoulders as needed, grasp, and hold tools and other items with your hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the shift. You must have the capability to lift 50 or more pounds and work in close quarters. Additionally, you must be able to operate equipment such as (but not limited to) an air compressor, generator, paint gun, hand tools, along with apps such as Google Calendar.
