PowerHouse Home Services is a growing, customer-focused electrical, HVAC, and generator service company. We’re committed to excellence and total home protection. We're currently seeking an experienced Standby Generator Service Technician to join our team and help us maintain the high standards our customers rely on.

Position Summary

As a Standby Generator Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on standby generators for residential and light commercial customers. Your role is critical to ensuring generator reliability and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, battery tests/swaps, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair generator control panels, electrical malfunctions, and fuel systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with generator systems.
  • Maintain clear and accurate service records, including parts used and work performed.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explaining issues, updates, and recommendations.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working on standby generators (1+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of generator electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex generator issues.
  • Familiarity with multiple generator brands; Generac experience preferred.
  • Generac Air-Cooled and Liquid-Cooled Certifications are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
