These qualifications and skills are essential to ensure safe, reliable generator installations and to address clients’ needs efficiently.

Job description

Teague Electric has been powering Kansas City for over 40 years, and we're not slowing down. We've built our reputation on precision, reliability, and doing things the right way. Our team is made up of some of the best electricians in the industry, and we're continuing to raise the bar by bringing in high-caliber talent who take pride in their work.
We're looking for experienced Generator Technicians ready to step into a Project Manager / Lead Installer role. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands backup power systems, takes ownership of their work, and can lead installations while coordinating projects.
This role offers a clear path into a full-time Project Manager position, with the opportunity to mentor and develop the next generation of installers and service technicians. Long-term, this position evolves beyond the tools into leading project coordination, helping scale the generator division, and driving growth through customer upgrades and expanded services.
If you're someone who wants more than just running service calls and instead wants to build something, this is that opportunity!
What You'll Get
Competitive Pay: $30-36/hour plus overtime and performance bonuses
Great Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts with overtime potential
Additional Perks:
  • Company vehicle (based on experience/role progression)
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, vision, life & disability insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 100% paid continuing education & certifications
  • Professional development support
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Strong team culture + company events

What We're Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of generator installation and service experience
  • Experience with liquid-cooled and air-cooled generator systems
  • Kohler and/or Generac certifications strongly preferred
  • Additional certifications on liquid/air-cooled systems = big plus
  • Experience installing and maintaining residential and commercial-grade generators
  • Entry-level experience in project coordination or job management is a plus
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC code, and wiring methods
  • Proven troubleshooting ability. You diagnose, not guess
  • Strong people skills. You can lead a job and communicate with customers
  • Master Electrician license (or working toward it) preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and lead others
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead installation of residential generator systems (air-cooled & liquid-cooled)
  • Perform service, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Coordinate jobs, materials, schedules, and field execution
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers during projects
  • Support and mentor junior technicians and installers
  • Ensure clean, organized, and code-compliant work
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades and additional work
