Job description

The Powerhouse Generator Technicians responsibilities include but are not limited to the following major items.

Primary Job Tasks Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate record keeping related to the maintenance, testing and rebuilding of the generator sets as well as related emissions control devices.
  • Perform equipment PM maintenance as required based on the manufacture’s O/M manual.
  • Rebuild the generator set engines to factory specifications when required as per the manufacture’s O/M manual.
  • Perform load bank testing annually on the required engines for NESHAP Rice emissions testing requirements
  • Keep an overall eye on powerhouse generators and related operating equipment. Address any issues in a timely manner.
  • Advise Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer of any issues as they arise.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Respond to any emergencies as needed.
  • Additional duties at the discretion of the General Manager and Chief Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience working on generators and engines
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Proficiency in using meters, analyzers and test equipment
  • Working knowledge of load bank testing

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in using all tools required to perform the work
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others
