About this Position

Oklahoma State University's Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is dedicated to making available science-based information relevant to improving the quality of life for the people of Oklahoma. The Division is comprised of the Ferguson College of Agriculture and two state agencies: the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. This position is a senior member of the Digital Team in the Dean's Office, Division of Agriculture, at Oklahoma State University. The position is located at the Stillwater campus, with some hybrid/work from home days considered. The Digital Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Integrated Digital Strategies and works closely with the Senior Director, faculty, researchers, Extension educators, and staff to extend the reach, visibility, and impact of Division programs.

The Coordinator supervises two graduate student workers and serves as a mentor to Digital Communications Specialists on the team, providing direction on web production, accessibility, analytics, and emerging digital practice. The Coordinator plays a lead role in the team's analytics function and in search optimization (traditional SEO and Generative Engine Optimization for AI search surfaces), evaluates and applies AI tools to digital workflows, and develops training for CMS users across the Division.

In addition to the supervisory and senior responsibilities above, the Coordinator performs the same core production work as the Digital Specialists when needed: updating and designing web pages in content management systems including Squiz Matrix and SharePoint, ensuring WCAG AA conformance, evaluating site and content performance, supporting CMS migrations, revising web content, editing photos, managing digital experience platform functionalities, performing QA on pages submitted for publication, distributing internal communications, and remediating documents for accessibility. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, Management Information Systems, or related field.

  • Three to five years of progressive experience managing websites, remediating documents, and producing digital content, with at least one year supervising staff, student workers, or peer mentees.

    Demonstrated experience in accessibility standards and WCAG 2.1 conformance, document remediation in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and use of web technologies including HTML, content management systems, web design, image editing, and content creation.

    Demonstrated experience with web analytics, SEO, and applied use of AI tools in a digital communications setting.

    Experience supervising or mentoring employees.

    Demonstrated experience using web analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, SiteImprove or equivalent) to analyze site and content performance, including segmentation, custom reporting, and translating data into recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

    Working knowledge of search engine optimization and generative engine optimization, including on-page SEO, structured data, content optimization for AI Overviews and answer engines, and AI search visibility audits.

    Hands-on experience applying AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable) to content production, editorial review, accessibility checks, analytics reporting, or workflow automation.

    Experience designing and delivering training for CMS users and digital staff, including written documentation, recorded walkthroughs, and live sessions.

    Experience remediating and testing web pages, web applications, and electronic documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 conformance using both automated and manual methods.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage concurrent projects, and contribute to team efforts.
