Job description

Who are we hiring?

Enthusiastic, skilled and reliable Generative Artist with passion for creating using AI to enable content creation for the largest screens in the world!

This Generative Artist reports to the Generative Effects Supervisor and works across every aspect of AI-driven production: prompt engineering, asset preparation, nodegraph based creation tools, post processing of Gen AI outputs, compositing workflows, etc. with expert level skills in one or more of those areas.

Working closely with leadership in Creative, Design, Production, Post Production, Visual Effects, Playback and Experiential Production, this position is ideal for innovative artists who are good communicators with a positive attitude and great creative problem solving skills.  This role is part of a Generative Effects team exploring and developing a new and unique language for Sphere.

What will you do?

  • Execute creative briefs by generating, iterating, and refining AI outputs to meet directorial needs and creative vision.
  • Write and refine prompts to feed into Gen AI models, running tools like or similar to ComfyUI and iterating on outputs to match directorial notes.
  • Create start and end frames in Photoshop and other Gen AI tools to establish creative direction for sequences.
  • Perform post-processing and compositing of AI-generated imagery in Nuke, combining generative outputs with traditional production techniques.
  • Publish versioned assets to ShotGrid for supervisor review and approval.
  • Maintain organized asset libraries, file naming conventions, and version control within the team's production environment.
  • Proactively run Gen AI tests in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Production & AI Innovation and the GenFX Supervisor.
  • Deliver final output at scale, working within production cadence and meeting deadlines across multiple sequences or projects.
  • Stay current with emerging Gen AI models, techniques, and tools, incorporating advancements into daily workflows.
  • Collaborate with the GenFX Supervisor to refine workflows, troubleshoot outputs, and maintain quality standards.
  • Ideal candidates have an appetite for creative execution and are forward thinking and technologically inclined and have interest in being a part of an ambitious, innovative project requiring collaboration and teamwork.
  • This role is part of a production artist group exploring and developing a unique language for Sphere, in collaboration with a creative development team.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

What do you need to succeed?

  • Proficiency equivalent to 5+ years of experience working as a digital artist in VFX, motion design, or related production disciplines
  • Deep hands-on expertise with generative AI tools and platforms, including ComfyUI workflow design, custom node usage, and prompt engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for frame creation, image manipulation, and asset preparation.
  • Working knowledge of Nuke for compositing and post-processing of AI-generated imagery.
  • Experience with ShotGrid (or equivalent production tracking tools) for asset versioning and review workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate creative briefs and directorial notes into polished AI-generated outputs through iterative refinement.
  • Experience with multiple AI generation tools and architectures (e.g., Flux, Stable Diffusion, ControlNets, LoRA training/integration, image-to-video workflows).
  • Strong understanding of file naming conventions, version control, and production pipeline discipline.
  • Ability to operate across generative image and video workflows, adapting to new models and techniques as they emerge.
  • Positive attitude and proven track record in creative problem solving with expressed interest in new technology and processes.
  • Work experience in large format deliverables or immersive/spherical projects desired.
