Job description

We are looking for a HR Generalist. The HR Generalist will work closely with one assigned client group to support daytoday HR needs and help drive a positive and engaged culture. This role provides guidance on core HR processes, supports employee relations activities, assists with talent programs, and ensures alignment with HR policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will operate as a reliable and solutionsoriented partner, escalating complex and strategic issues as appropriate. While not responsible for organizationwide strategic design, this role contributes to operational HR activities that support clientgroup success. 

Here's a summary of what Princess is looking for in the HR Generalist.  Is this you? 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide HR partnership to one assigned client group, supporting performance management, employee relations, coaching for people leaders, and the execution of HR processes. Will escalate complex issues appropriately.

  • Assist in implementing peoplerelated programs such as employee engagement activities, talent development processes, and change initiatives that support clientgroup needs.

  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Compensation, Talent Management, and Benefits) to ensure consistent practices, clear communication, and smooth execution of processes.

  • Support the review of employee issues to identify trends or areas of concern, providing recommendations for improvements based on best practices and established guidelines.

  • Represent HR in meetings with clientgroup leaders to provide guidance on HR policies, reinforce culture, and assist in implementing HR practices.

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive culture by supporting company initiatives, employee programs, and recognition efforts.

  • Provide coaching to leadership on core leadership behaviors, communication, performance discussions, and employee engagement.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Scope: The HR Generalist supports one client group and focuses primarily on operational HR activities. This role provides coaching to leadership on performance management, employee relations, and the daytoday people needs. The HR Generalist collaborates across HR functions to ensure timely and accurate delivery of processes and may support program implementation. Strategic organizational design decisions are escalated appropriately.

  • Problem solving: The HR Generalist identifies and resolves routine to moderately complex peoplerelated issues within the assigned client group. Problem solving typically involves gathering and analyzing information, applying established HR policies and best practices, and recommending practical solutions that support leaders and employees. The role evaluates trends or recurring concerns and provides informed suggestions to improve processes or reduce risk. Complex, sensitive, or highimpact issues are appropriately escalated to the Sr. Manager, HR Business Partner or senior HR team members.

  • Impact: The HR Generalist contributes to the overall effectiveness of the assigned client group by ensuring consistent application of HR processes, supporting employee engagement, and strengthening HR's role as a trusted partner. Decisions and recommendations made in this role directly influence daytoday employee issues, team culture, and leader effectiveness. While not responsible for strategic organizational design, the HR Generalist helps ensure operational continuity, adherence to compliance standards, and alignment with HR programs that ultimately contribute to improved performance and retention within the client group.            

  • Leadership: While the HR Generalist does not lead a team or make strategic organizational decisions, the role provides leadership through influence and partnership. This includes coaching leadership on effective performance management, communication practices, and employee relations approaches. The HR Generalist models company values, promotes an inclusive and collaborative culture, and helps reinforce expectations for leader behavior within the client group. Leadership is demonstrated through relationship building, reliable followthrough, and the ability to guide others through HR procedures and employeefocused initiatives.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

  • Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field

  • HR certifications (PHR, SHRMCP) preferred but not required

  • 2-4 years of Human Resources experience; experience in employee relations or HR operations preferred.

Essential Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Interpersonal and communication experience and building relationships at all levels of the organization. 

  • Demonstrated project management and change management experience and experience driving programs independently.

  • Demonstrated analytical and data management experience with experience translating data into action planning.

  • Effective business acumen skills and abilities that will allow the quick grasp, immersion and understanding of business issues, needs and imperatives.

  • Demonstrated success in creating an environment of trust with clients where integrity is unquestioned; can effectively utilize negotiation and conflict resolution skills when needed.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures business compliance.

Travel:   Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.

This position is classified as "in-office."  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.
