Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Welder to join our Lumber facility in Talladega, AL!
Salary:
  • Our starting pay is at $27.00 - $ 30.00/hour depending on experience.
  • $ 5.00/hour shift premium for any hours worked Friday - Sunday (overtime rules apply).
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:
  • Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • 12 hours shifts. Weekends, Thursday - Saturday (every other Sunday), 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • The week of orientation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will be assigned your regular shift after your orientation.

What You Will Do
  • Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment up to 12 hours per day. Stand for extended periods of time and lift/carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • At least 2 years of general welding experience.
  • Knowledge of various welding techniques including TIG, MIG, Arc, and Oxy-fuel Welding
  • Must demonstrate the ability to produce welds that are 100% x-ray quality and visually acceptable

• Must know how to clean welds with a buffer or grinder for the welder
